An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative professional to lead Warrington Borough Council’s communications team. The successful candidate will work with the leader, chief executive, senior members, partners and officers to enhance the council’s reputation both within and outside the borough.

Similar to other public sector bodies the council is in the midst of significant financial challenges, however there are some exciting campaigns ahead for the borough; preparations for the Rugby League World Cup 2013 and our “Warrington Means Business” regeneration programme, one of the biggest in the UK, to name but two.

As the communications lead for the organisation you will have a proven track record in achieving great outcomes; you will be able to operate effectively at a strategic level, have highly developed creative and interpersonal skills and excellent political sensitivity and awareness.

You will bring significant experience and a good knowledge of best practice in communications and marketing, and be able to apply this in a public sector environment.
