The Cabinet Office seeks to appoint a Media Operations Officer to its Events and Visits team. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to deliver high quality events, visits, domestic tours and foreign trips for senior Cabinet ministers, including the Prime Minister, and to work closely with national and international media. The successful applicant will be responsible for venue selection, media logistics, planning visits at home and abroad, and managing press conferences, interviews and in-house events.

The successful candidate will have experience from a busy press office or visits team, or will have worked in broadcast production. Experience of managing photographers and broadcast teams autonomously is desirable. Since the role involves ensuring that the media can get the highest quality images, candidates will need to possess the creativity and experience to offer effective advice on how events and media opportunities can be optimised in order to do so.

Working at the very centre of Government, in a small, dynamic and flexible team and the ability to think and act independently when faced with high pressure situations and fast moving circumstances is essential. The role involves frequent domestic and overseas travel, working to immovable deadlines and routine out of hours work.

This is a unique opportunity with some tremendous rewards, travelling the world with the most senior decision-makers in the country, building a network of contacts in organisations and Governments in the UK and around the world and developing your media skills in a fast-paced environment.

During the selection process candidates will be asked to undertake a written test full details of which will be made available if invited to interview.
