We are currently seeking an experienced PR & Media Manager to join our PR and Communications team. Reporting to the Head of PR & Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated tactical public relations plans and campaigns in line with strategic corporate priorities. Ensuring the promotion of positive and relevant news for the University across a variety of relevant external media channels will be a crucial part of this role, as will managing the University’s response to any issues that threaten its external reputation. This postholder will manage the PR & Media team, ensuring its activities are delivered effectively and efficiently.
Degree qualified or equivalent (CIPR qualification would be desirable), the ideal candidate will have substantial experience of proactive media relations working within a busy press and public relations environment. You will also have experience of managing a small team to deliver results, with proven ability to plan and organise individual/team activities to complement strategic direction and contribute to broader plans. Strong project management skills combined with a strong awareness of key media issues within the Higher Education sector will be key.
