Bell Pottinger is an international, full-service communications business. Bell Pottinger is seeking an experienced HR professional who is responsible for the delivery of the people services throughout the company. The successful candidate will form part of the Central Operations team of Bell Pottinger, a company that has gone through a period of transition since the MBO from Chime Communications in July 2012. The individual will recommend new approaches to continually improve the HR function and act as a trusted advisor across the Group.

We are looking for a tenacious individual who is determined in their approach with a can do attitude. They will have a presence at the company Monday morning meeting, divisional board meetings and will have day to day reporting to the Management Board. This is a broad generalist role that requires strong capability in all HR disciplines, however as the business is growing there will be a focus on talent management, culture and learning and development.

Job Specification

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Operate as a business partner to the business
  • Write and execute a people strategy
  • Responsible for employee engagement and internal communications
  • Oversee the company recruitment strategy
  • Implement and execute a company training programme
  • Ensure paperwork (offer letters, contracts, amendment letter) is issued in a timely manner
  • Introduce a companywide mentoring scheme
  • Oversee a benefits review alongside payroll manager
  • Develop and sustain strong business relationships across the Group
  • Provide expertise and advice on HR related issues
  • Analyse and present information from exit interviews to the partners to gauge and manage any retention issues
  • Attend key business meetings to provide input to the strategic and operating plans

Person Specification


Skills / knowledge

  • Experience in senior level reporting
  • Confident in managing a small team
  • Training experience
  • Good understanding of payroll
  • Sound knowledge of HR law
  • Has ambition to achieve business awards i.e. Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Intuitive - knows when to escalate/engage others to manage risk/issues
  • Strong work ethic with a flexible and proactive approach


  • Experience in PR or a people based business
  • Experience of working within an LLP
