This is a rare opportunity to join one of the most well respected charities in the UK, where you will support the delivery of internal and external communications across the group.

This charity has been in existence for many years and have cultivated their reputation by virtue of an innovative and holistic approach to their work. This particular role is a key position within their communications team where you will work alongside some very talented and experienced PR practitioners which will definitely add value to your career and personal development.              


The key function of this role will be to develop and maintain their profile within the public and commercial community via regional and local media. This will be achieved and supported by the provision of timely and relevant communications (press releases, marketing copy, social media content, etc.) ensuring all communications activity is aligned with their iconic brand and values.  The role will also involve generating accurate, impactful and timely news stories and feature ideas, and placement in relevant media.   You will also develop and maintain strong working relationships with the media, both traditional and social as well as handling incoming press enquiries as and when necessary.    

The role will also see you attend fundraising events and provide support and consultancy to approved media spokespeople as well as monitoring media coverage for any related issues. You may also assist the team in the day-to-day management of interns and volunteers within the communications team and actively contribute to the development of the department.  You will actively support good communication practices within your work and participate in training and development to further enhance your role within the organisation.  

The role has many facets from handling media enquiries to developing cutting edge campaigns to raise brand awareness to the general public and business community. For this engaging and inspiring role, you will need a minimum three years PR and marketing experience which may have been gained in an agency or in-house communications department.  It is also necessary that you have excellent writing skills and be able to develop good working relationships at all levels. It is essential that you are educated to degree level and be able to operate effectively in a fast paced environment which will require you to work with tact and discretion at all times.
