Global Planning Director:

Based in London, the Global Planning Director drives the development of effective campaign and engagement strategies, through understanding of research and consumer insights and the interpretation of these to enable the delivery of relevant and compelling content. In this unique and challenging category, the GPD must be capable of developing global strategies that fully integrate consumer and trade engagement opportunities as permitted by market/regional regulation.

The GPD identifies key audience segments, value propositions and contact plans and ensures campaigns stay on strategy during the lifecycle of the project. He/she will be responsible for working with the Agency Brand Leader and Client to define performance criteria at brief stage and oversee relevant results measurement.

Role Objectives

* Use consumer/market understanding to develop more effective engagement strategies for clients.
* Drive up the overall calibre of strategic thinking within the Agency team.
* Act as an internal consultant and partner to Account Management, Creative and Channel Planning, identifying and defining opportunities to contribute to the Client's business objectives.
* Work closely with Insight Partner to ensure insights are integrated into development work in a timely and holistic fashion.
* Guide the translation of engagement strategies into global manifestos:

o Assisting in the preparation of the briefing process

o Working with Creative to help them reach a clear understanding of the target audience's mind-set and its implications for creative styles

o Participating in the review process to help ensure that the core essence of the brief has been accurately interpreted

o When required, to participate in the briefing of creative development and creative concept pre-testing research

* Advise on need for market research and where required contribute to the development of research briefs.
* Provide analyses of market trends to help develop and present Agency's point of view regarding their implications to Clients.
* Identify and present marketing initiatives based on consumer and competitive insights.
* Promote the image of the Agency as best able to translate superior consumer understanding into truly effective total communications, through powerful strategies and excellent Creative.
* Be recognised as an expert in communications and marketing related theories and methods and how and when to use them.
* Train and develop colleagues to think more strategically and so develop better strategic business relationships between Agency and Client.
* Communicate with most senior Client personnel in a way that strengthens and adds value to the relationship.
