My client is an independent communications consultancy whose corporate division is seeing rapid growth. It has built its reputation on attracting people who are willing to be brave with their approach to comms and is now looking for an Associate Director in that same mould.

The head of the division is happy to explore two options for this hire. The ideal would be someone who can blend corporate affairs and b2b PR experience with an element of political comms / insight. That's political from less of a lobbying perspective, more fascinating international politics and advisory work.

However he would happily meet candidates who don't have political experience and whose forte is pure corporate affairs and b2b PR.

The team's client portfolio is varied as they don’t think in terms of sectors. Instead their focus is on attracting people who can look at comms campaigns with a commercial understanding. What is the business problem and how can comms help solve it? Who are the client's buyers, how can you help get to them? How can comms really add value?

Other attributes the team looks for include:
- people who are intellectually curious with bright, inquisitive minds
- people who would rather be brave and risk losing than safe and mediocre
- people who question everything against the context of is this award winning work?

Everyone in the team has been attracted from industry-leading consultancies and the team has a clear aim to ensure it is fiercely competitive in the market. In order for that to happen it is looking to attract the best talent in the industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious PR practitioner who wants an environment in which you can progress quickly, and be heavily involved in helping set the strategy for the business.
