CPRD Communications and Marketing Manager  

Permanent – Full Time position

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

The agency is made up of circa 1300 staff working across two main centres and peripatetically across the UK and abroad.

CPRD, jointly funded by the agency and the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), is the UK’s preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research. CPRD services are designed to maximise the way anonymised NHS clinical data can be used to improve and safeguard public health. For more than 20 years data provided by CPRD have been used in a range of drug safety and epidemiological studies that have impacted on health care and resulted in over 1500 peer-reviewed publications.

The UK is in a unique global position to use clinical records in novel ways for patient recruitment, clinical trials management and follow up. In addition to supporting high quality observational research, CPRD is developing world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and intervention studies.

Purpose of the role:                                                                                

This is an exciting marcomms role at the forefront of public health. The post holder will work across the full communications and marketing mix to develop and implement a communications strategy that supports delivery of CPRD’s business objectives.

The post holder will manage and support projects aimed at promoting CPRD and raising its profile with a range of stakeholders, including GPs and customers.

The post holder will work closely with staff at all levels in CPRD and with teams in the Communications Division to ensure communications activities are integrated, effectively planned, resourced and measured, and aligned with the government’s  latest approach to communications.  

The role requires someone who can manage relationships at a senior level and work effectively across both CPRD and the Communications Division.  We are looking for a proactive, creative, energetic individual with experience of planning and delivery marcomms in the B2B sector. They will be a team player who is equally effective working on their own, and able to manage multiple projects at once. 

The post is in the Strategic Communications and Marketing team, part of the Communications Division which serves the whole agency.

This post will work exclusively with CPRD on their communications plan.

The post reports to the Head of Strategic Communications and Marketing with a dotted line to the CPRD Head of Clinical Communications.

Communications related degree, equivalent professional qualification or equivalent work experience.
