Our client, a leading trade association for the travel industry, are looking for a creative Media and PR Manager to join their team. You will play a pivotal role, managing the development and implementation of proactive consumer PR campaigns as well as  reactive media work. This role would suit a passionate individual with the ability to adapt tone and content of a range of high-profile consumer PR campaigns for different audiences and channels. You will work closely with communications colleagues and partners internally and externally to deliver well planned, targeted campaigns across all media channels.

As Media and PR Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Initiating, planning, managing and evaluating consumer PR initiatives and campaigns
  • Playing an active role in the company’s press team, dealing with crisis and issues
  • Acting as a media spokesperson among national and regional broadcast and print media
  • Regularly writing editorial features for travel trade publications
  • Ensuring that campaigns deliver across traditional, social and other media channels

A successful candidate will:

  • Have specific skills in the writing of editorial material for both consumer and corporate audiences
  • Have strong news sense and media handling skills, including understanding the news agenda, effectively pitching stories and managing media enquiries, and the ability to conduct broadcast media interviews at national and regional level
  • Be aware of both traditional and social media and prior experience of manipulating the full range of channels for proactive campaigns
  • Have skills and experience in managing media activity of a sensitive nature in relation to crises
