This Place is looking for a marketing communications all rounder, who will thrive at being part of an innovative and cutting edge global design studio, based in the heart of Shoreditch. The successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of how to drive brand awareness for b2b brands with the ability to build creative and thought leading campaigns that will engage customers, prospects, staff and influencers across traditional and new media platforms.

This is a perfect role for someone wanting to make their first move from agency to in-house and who has a natural instinct to raise awareness of brands through every channel possible.

This Place is a global digital design studio in Shoreditch London, Seattle & Tokyo. Our mission is to help global brands build world class, customer focused products and services for the digital economy. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a digital native and have a natural affiliation to the world of design business and technology  
  • Be a self starter who is able to take ownership of a plan and deliver it seamlessly
  • Be hooked into the news and social agenda and be a natural, confident storyteller
  • Proactively drive new ideas and opportunities for the brand
  • Have strong agency and brand background but be excited about working with a growing business to shape its future

Purpose and Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and protect the reputation of This Place
  • Develop an annual Marketing and Communications plan and ensure its delivery on time and to budget
  • Raise brand awareness of This Place amongst all stakeholders
  • Work with the business development team to design and support marketing led sales campaigns
  • Manage the company’s website and social channels, ensuring that content is relevant, up to date and interesting
  • Create engaging events for This Place to host or identify and manage its attendance at the most important industry events
  • Showcase strong writing skills by writing blogs, news letters, white papers and other marketing materials
  • Influence and leverage internal resources to support marketing endeavours
  • Know how the trade and business media works, build relationships with them and deliver coverage on a regular basis
  • Develop internal communications campaigns to foster internal brand ambassadors as well as create communications campaigns to attract new recruits
  • Carry out any other responsibilities commensurate with the post that key management may require

Experience required

  • 3 years experience working in marketing communications for b2b brands, ideally with a PR background from an agency or in-house but with the ability to deliver integrated marketing plans
  • Proven background in delivering traditional and new communications campaigns
  • Experience of delivering events and projects to time, budget and quality
  • Ability to work independently, but know how to brief their line manager appropriately to ensure the development and delivery of overall plans
