Director of Communication and Marketing and Strategy
£112,996 per annum
Permanent Contract
The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park are looking for an outstanding candidate to lead their public facing activity as well as shape the strategic direction of the most successful Olympic legacy programme in history.
The role:
The job is a senior Board level post. You will work closely with a range of nationally recognised organisations involved in the wider Olympic legacy. The communications responsibilities involve the oversight of a busy press office, public affairs, as well as a corporate and internal communication remit. There is also a marketing portfolio ensuring the Park generates over 6 million annual visits. The strategy responsibilities are complex and demanding, ensuring an organisational focus on the delivery of long term objectives, balancing operational and financial pressures with political objectives and sensitivities.
The Organisation:
LLDC holds a range of statutory planning powers relating to developing and implementing a local plan for the regeneration of east London. LLDC reports directly to the Mayor of London and is responsible for the management of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and its sporting venues. LLDC is also tasked with a significant development role and over the coming years is charged with building homes for 55,000 people, bringing over 40,000 jobs to the area and attracting over 125 million visits. In addition LLDC will be creating a globally significant culture and education district, housing partners such as the V&A, Sadlers Wells, University College London and the London College of Fashion. The successful delivery of this project will be a key challenge for the next post-holder.
The Person:
You will be a senior professional, with a wide range of skills that can be demonstrated across all 3 of the key delivery areas: communication, marketing and strategy. You will have an awareness of the relevant issues and have a depth of personal experience operating in one or more related areas. You will have a track record of relevant delivery. Further, you will be able to demonstrate experience of shaping and managing wider organisational strategies.
You will be comfortable operating at a senior level, supporting and influencing senior decision makers often at speed, under pressure on politically sensitive issues. You will be comfortable in representational work, potentially on public or media platforms.
**LLDC recognises the positive value of diversity and promotes equality. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from BAME and Female Candidates**
