Communications Manager - Financial Services - City of London

 

Our client, a well established and leading investment company, is looking for a Communications Manager to join its Communications team and support the production and delivery of all internal communications across the organisation and some external communications. The Communications Manager will be based in their offices in the City.

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Support in the delivery of the our client’s strategic internal communications plan
  • Devise and deliver strategic communication plans to support the implementation of projects and initiatives from across the company
  • Work with project owners to develop to ensure detailed and robust communication plans are developed, managed and delivered
  • Oversee communication strategies and provide Communications consultancy support
  • Identify and develop strategic, creative and innovative ways to engage with all employees through a variety of channels
  • Support activities as part of the strategic plan to communicate business news, events and initiatives for employees across multiple regional offices.
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as the staff intranet, internal magazine or regular email bulletins
  • Promote best practice relating to internal communications, ensuring clarity of processes and clear messaging.
  • Work closely with department, division and branch heads to engage them with the communications function
  • Work autonomously and build partnerships and a network with key figures in the organisation
  • Support the Head of Communications with the day-to-day running of the Communications department (including fulfilling external communication needs where necessary)
  • The Communications Manager will spend c. 80% of their time on internal communications and 20% on external communications

Experience:

  • Three to five year's experience of working in communications (both internal and external)
  • Previous experience in understanding, identifying, planning and managing communication deliverables and integrating communication strategies that are aligned to the aims of the programme or project
  • Experience in communications or project management, for a mid to large organisation, is most sought after.
  • Other relevant experience a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of driving employee involvement and engagement through a variety of channels
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders as well as at all levels across the business
  • Work on both proactive and reactive communications
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Creative ability to help devise communication strategies that will have cut-through internally.
  • A systematic and methodical approach to working with an eye for detail
  • A positive attitude and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
