Job Details
This is a rewarding, varied and demanding role at a leading Cancer Charity. The opportunity is ideal for an existing Press Officer at healthcare charity looking for their next challenge, or a passionate and engaging Senior Account Executive at a healthcare PR agency or team looking to move across to charity.
Our client is driven by compassion, the desire to engage proactively and the vision to see people at the heart of their work- be that internally or externally. We are therefore looking for a self-starter motivated by cause-related work, with exceptional PR and Media skills. Your work will directly impact on the lives of patients with terminal illness during palliative and end of care life- as well as providing support to their families. You will work alongside the nursing, funding and policy and research teams in doing so. A background in working in-house in charity or social care work/charity campaigns in agency would help but is not essential. Equally any experience in public affairs and policy in health would be a plus but is not critical. This is a busy media team so you need to be proactive in responding to enquiries as well as unafraid to pick up the phone to journalists focusing on national messaging and what the charity does. You will work across various channels so digital particularly social is desired- and the ability to liaise internally with varied teams including Marketing, Creative, Digital, Funding and Events. . You will also be required to engage externally with celebrities when required so the ability to multi-task and adapt is essential.
