Media Relations Consultant

A service provider requires an exceptional Media Relation specialist to join their busy Press Office team for an initial 6 month contract position.  The role will focus on the day-to-day response to media enquiries as well as proactively promote the organisation’s corporate narrative.  This will be across national, regional, online and trade press.

Specifically the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Timely responding to high volume of press interest and protecting the brand reputation
• Building and developing strong relationships with target journalists across consumer, regional and trade press
• Briefing spokepeople or acting as spokesperson for media and representing organisation with key stakeholders
• Organising on call rota for out of office media calls
• Producing internal reports on media monitoring

The role would suit a media relations professional who has worked in a busy press office, able to juggle priorities, work to tight deadlines and keep a calm head.  Must have previous experience in a public service press office and be a strong writer able to produce copy to tight deadlines and for a variety of outlets.  Need to be available at one month’s notice or less.
