Account Director - Strategic Health Comms / Health Policy (1 year Maternity Contract)
An award-winning fast-paced strategic communications and public affairs consultancy, a top-20 firm, with offices in London, US, Africa and the Middle East is looking for a new Account Director / Media Strategist to join it's fast-growing Health division.
This is an enormously exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is perhaps currently a strong Senior Account Manager and ready to take that step up, or an established Account Director level candidate, who is seeking a opportunity which provides a chance to capitalise on their strong media relations across the health spectrum, have the autonomy to created a strong media strategy programme and in return, receive incredible financial rewards. The role is initially a 1-year Maternity contract but highly possible to become permanent afterwards should the candidate wish.
The Health team devises and implements communications and public affairs programmes across a number of specialist areas typically including strategic consultancy and message development, political outreach and select committee training, corporate communications, media relations, media training, issues and crisis management, digital and social media, integrated campaigning, patient and professional engagement, market access / Health Technology Appraisal communications, patient education and disease awareness. The team has a growing list of UK and international clients from the health and well-being, pharmaceutical, social care and charity sectors. With a solid and established health policy and public affairs offering, the team is looking to expand further on its brand / product PR capabilities.
The Health team, which is part of firm’s wider Corporate Communications and Public Affairs division, currently has around 25 staff members . The team provides public relations and public affairs services to clients which help them successfully navigate through a complex and fast-changing health landscape. In addition to this and due to client demand, the team requires a media strategist / specialist, resulting in an overall offering that covers a truly wide spectrum of healthcare communications.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in global brand communications in addition to experience in helping to drive and shape a business. You will have exceptional global and UK media and client contacts and an impressive network across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. You will be genuinely passionate about healthcare communications and be passionate about team management and development. This role will require you to work very closely with the MD / Head of Healthcare and you will need to possess fantastic leadership skills and have an entrepreneurial nature.
The firm also has an extremely unique, attractive and a highly motivational bonus scheme and with an excellent benefits package. This includes a quarterly bonus (opportunity to earn up to 24% salary per annum), annual profit share (10% Company profits distributed pro-rata), 50% company contribution to a leading gym, Life Assurance and cycle to work scheme.
