We are seeking a talented Press Officer / PR Executive (Junior) to join a leading trade association based in central London. Working at the heart of the UK Automotive industry expect an exciting and varied role which will see you involved in everything from writing press releases and social media promotions to media relations and events.
 
Founded in 1902, this leading trade body are the voice of the motor industry offering services that span competitive insight, industry expertise, government lobbying plus much more.  As a constant to an ever changing automotive world, this industry leader is considered as a valuable asset to its membership base which consists of over 600 organisations.
 
Joining as the Press Officer / PR Executive (Junior) you will utilise your experience within a press / news room environment to promote the sector globally via media relations, social media, news stories and events. On a day-to-day basis expect to write and distribute engaging content across social media, press releases and newsletters, pitch news stories, identify news angles, build media relationships, support events, act as team admin and much more. In short, expect a fast–paced, hands on role working in a world-class press office.  
 
To qualify...  You should be a Junior Press Officer / PR Executive / Public Relations Assistant / Journalist / Marketing Communications Officer / MarComms Exec or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

  • Some experience in a similar role within a newsroom or press office;
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills;
  • An understanding of the national news agenda and public affairs;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • An eye for spotting news stories;
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to multi-task;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Automotive experience is not essential but a genuine interest in the sector is a must.
