This high profile trade association exists purely to help its members who are international group of nuclear power plant operators to accomplish the highest levels of operational safety and reliability.

The organisation unites every company and country in the world that has an operating commercial nuclear power plant to achieve the highest possible standards of nuclear safety.

This is achieved through a series of highly-regarded programmes, such as peer reviews, and access to technical support and a global library of operating experience. With offices in London and Hong Kong, and regional centres in Moscow, Atlanta, Tokyo and Paris, the organisation cuts across political barriers and interests.​

With safety as the only goal, the organisation helps operators communicate effectively and share information openly.

The opportunity

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing a programme of increased member engagement, including through promotion of the new member website to ensure maximum uptake by the membership and through expansion of the member communications and editorial functions.

Each Senior Communications Manager in the organisation’s London Corporate Communications team is also required to act as a single point of contact for 2-3 Programme and Business Directors, providing counsel on the appropriate approach to communicating their various initiatives and actions.

Key Responsibilities for this London based Senior Communications Manager role:

  • Working with the Corporate Communications Director and Regional Centre Communications teams to build on the insights of the 2017 stakeholder audit and develop a comprehensive member engagement plan
  • Developing a strategy for the new member website, to drive engagement and uptake of the organisation’s products and services throughout the global membership
  • Taking the lead to develop and drive the creation of a global database of member communications teams within the organisation and use this as the basis of a new member communications plan
  • Working with the Communications Group and Corporate Communications Programme Director to establish a series of Communications Expert Group Meetings across the global regions
  • Taking on the role of editor for the member magazine and determining the way forward for the publication, utilising analytics to determine the best approach to content and translation in particular (you don’t need to be bilingual)
  • Contributing to broad Communications strategy, creating, managing and delivering various discrete communications plans on the organisation activities/issues
  • Preparing of press releases, marketing and event materials as required, and writing speeches, presentations and supporting materials for the Chairman, CEO and Programme Directors to ensure their messaging aligns with the organisation’s Communications Strategy
  • Support with the effective delivery of the External Communications and Event Management functions

 

 

Requirements for this London based Senior Communications Manager role:

  • Proven senior stakeholder management – gravitas and the ability to influence senior members of staff
  • Track record of delivering successful multi-disciplinary communications campaigns
  • Experience of coaching other staff and demonstrating leadership qualities
  • Demonstrable experience of managing the online and print publication of high quality technical documents, newsletters and magazines to time and within budget
  • Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills and the ability to convey complex technical information simply and effectively to diverse audiences
  • A proven ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • High level of customer service, interpersonal, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to self-manage, organise, and prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
