The opportunity

My client is hiring a Regional Press Officer to join their high performing media and communications team, reporting into the Deputy Head of news. This is a newly created role and as the Regional Press Officer you will have a hands on role in proactive and reactive media relations as well as social media and events. This is a terrific opportunity for someone to progress their communications career in a busy team working at the centre of British business, politics and media.

Main responsibilities

  • Increase regional media coverage
  • Working with the policy reams and Regional Directors to proactively seek opportunities in regional and trade media statements
  • Organising press conferences, media roundtables an ad hoc events
  • Raising the media profile of Regional Directors

Key skills and experience required

  • Proven media relations experience
  • Understanding of policy and public affairs
  • Knowledge of national, regional, trade and online media
  • Good all-round communicator
