Head of Communications and Community Investment

Not for profit housing association in South East London is seeking a Head of Communications and Community Investment to join their team on an initial 6 month fixed term contract.

In this position you will play a major role in the supporting the delivery of strategy at a time of exciting change and challenge across the organisation.  Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, you will have a real opportunity to shape how communications are delivered now and for the future within the organisation. 

Key duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Designing and delivering the communications strategies and advising the Executive team
• Managing branding and external image, ensuring a consistent and clear identity
• Delivering well organised campaigns with clear outcomes on time and within budget
• Leading on and maximising internal communications
• Managing stakeholder and resident engagement and community development
• Monitoring press activity and producing media responses to enquiries, looking for suitable proactive media opportunities
• First point of contact for any reputational issues
• Evaluating and maximising use of social media channels
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local politicians, the community and senior internal stakeholders
• Line management of Team Managers

Skills and experience desired:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar position
• Strong leadership skills and team management experience
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships within a political environment
• Excellent understanding of internal and external communications
• Credible, commercially-driven, outcomes-focused approach in all dealings with managers and external stakeholders
