Job Details

My client, a management consultancy based in London, is looking for a change comms lead on an initial three month contract with an immediate start. This is a great opportunity for an experienced change communicator to work client side on one of the organsiation’s largest accounts in the retail sector.

The successful candidate will design and deliver a communications and engagement strategy which will act as an enabler to the successful delivery of a transformation programme. They will be required to raise awareness across the business (up to 100,000 employees) of a key transformation programme by planning and supporting targeted communications and engagement activities for key stakeholder groups who need to change behaviours and ways of working.

This role will suit candidates who have gravitas and who are able to quickly navigate across a global organisation to determine key stakeholders and methods of communicating largescale change. Experience working for a management consultancy or a retailer would be advantageous but is not essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Devise and manage communications plan – continually updating, to ensure the client focuses on the biggest areas of impact & value-add
  • Oversee execution of plan to time and quality, pulling on available resource to support
  • Coordinate measurement activity, in order to identify and highlight progress and gaps in engagement (e.g. in awareness/ understanding/ knowledge)
  • Provide support to project managers to ensure engagement plans are baked in to operational project plans
  • Identify and articulate upcoming communications activities to key stakeholders, ensuring an aligned view across the programme team of what’s happening and when, and being clear about the role others need to play in delivery
  • Key success factors:
  • Leveraging the client and the team effectively to plan and deliver multiple activities for a range of stakeholder groups
  • Ensuring content is relevant, accurate and engaging
  • Integrating with the wider team in order to understand the technical problems and solutions, and translate these into a compelling narrative across the client organisation
  • Ability to absorb a lot of information/ requests for support and prioritise where to add value
  • Ability to articulate the strategic aim of communication & engagement activities planned
  • A commitment to understanding the key behaviour changes that will be required from different stakeholder groups in order to support bespoke comms & engagement plans
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

This contract will be starting late July/ early-August so the client is only considering candidates who can start by those dates.
Would suit

  • led the communication for large scale transformation programmes
  • been the main communications point of contact for senior leaders
  • someone with a real passion for driving behaviour change through strategic communication and specific activities (not just managing the information flow across an organisation)
