Position

The Team:

Portland’s SPARC unit (Strategy, Planning, Analytics, Research + Creative) focuses on designing innovative research programmes and on uncovering insights that lead to better strategy and actionable ideas for our clients. We identify the right audience, the right channels and the right message to realise each client’s version of success. We work closely with our consultants across the globe to identify the insights that can inform compelling campaigns and communications strategies. The unit is growing fast and now wishes to expand our planning, research and project management expertise.

The Role:

Work with the senior leadership team including Creative Strategists and Strategic Planners in establishing the agency as a key partner in the client's business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships, provide responsive client service, being proactive regarding client needs
  • Participate in client workshops, strategy and creative presentations
  • Effectively present to clients, define and scope brief, write inspiring proposals
  • Lead the team from initial project brief through project completion, including project budgets, schedule and resource needs for various brand projects
  • Mentor junior team on skills development, project delivery and client management

Requirements

Qualifications, skills and competencies:

You must:

  • Have a keen interest and knowledge of politics, the media, social media and current affairs
  • Be proficient in online and social media trends and developments
  • Be highly numerate with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Be highly articulate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be IT proficient: word, excel, PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working in the media or at a communications agency would be an advantage
