Are you looking to join a charity that makes a real difference in the scientific community? This leading scientific membership society are looking for a Communications Executive to join their team in Central London.

Although the content can be very scientific, the culture is very modern and informal which is line with their efforts to make employee wellbeing a key part of their environment. The key aspect of this role is turning bland scientific material into interesting and engaging content to be digested by employees, members and the wider public.

As Communications Executive, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for commissioning, writing and editing communications content - both internal and external
  • editing and proofing additional copy on behalf of colleagues
  • Responsible for managing our relationship with our design studio - managing requests for publications (reports, booklets, leaflets, posters etc) and ensuring the design and production process goes smoothly
  • holder must be a good writer, well organised, proactive and personable

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Communication skills - ability to express information succinctly, very clearly and effectively in written and oral form
  • Functional and technical skills - has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
  • Personal learning - picks up on the need to change personal and interpersonal behaviour quickly
  • Demonstrable copywriting experience across a range of audiences
  • Demonstrable experience of managing communications projects, including liaising with designers and printers
  • Experience of science communication desirable - but not essential
