We’re looking for a personable individual with proven, relevant relationship management experience to join us as Celebrity Manager. You will be responsible for taking forward Shelter’s celebrity strategy and developing a brand new ambassador programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.

Despite our many successes over the years, right now we are in the middle of a housing crisis. Our shortage of affordable housing means more and more people are facing a daily struggle for a place to call home, and the increase in homelessness on our streets is just the tip of the iceberg. Now, as we embark upon a new organisational strategy, this role will cut across all of our campaigning and fundraising work, and allow us to better use celebrity voices to help us campaign for change and raise money for our vital support services.

About the role

Recruiting new celebrity supporters and maintaining relationships with long-standing ones is the challenge that awaits you in this interesting and varied role. As well as developing and managing an ambitious celebrity strategy and ambassador programme, you’ll oversee the recruitment of celebrities to support specific events, campaigns and activities. Identifying new ways to proactively develop our celebrity work will be important too, as will making sure those recruited are suitable to promote and reflect our aims, beliefs and values and are adequately supported and briefed.

About you

You’ll need a successful track record gained managing relationships with agents, artists and celebrities in a campaigning, fundraising, PR and media or entertainment setting, and your finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest celebrity news. We’ll also be looking for great interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts. Creative, innovative and collaborative in approach, you have lots of initiative too and you're not afraid to challenge the status quo and try out new ideas. What's more, you have strong commercial awareness and a real commitment to achieving results.

Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, the possibility of flexible working, enhanced family friendly policies and significant opportunities for learning and development.

Safeguarding is everyone’s business. Shelter is committed to protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of those we support, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. All our staff will be expected to observe professional standards of behaviour and conduct their work in line with our Safeguarding Policies.
