Job Ref: 14873

We are looking for two confident Communications Officers to join our growing regional communications team.

As part of the team you will create, implement and deliver internal and external communications for both Counter Terrorism Policing South East and the South East Regional and Organised Crime Unit, providing specialist advice to officers and staff, whilst working with other police forces across the South East to coordinate communications across the region.

The UK is facing an unprecedented threat from terrorism and organised criminals can cause significant harm to our communities, which means you will face complex communication challenges every day.

To join our team, you will have either a nationally recognised qualification in communications, public relations, business or journalism or relevant equivalent experience. You will need to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, proven ability to work with people at all levels and good awareness of diversity issues and will have experience of working in a large public, private sector or high profile organisation. Previous experience in policing or government would be an advantage.

These roles are part of a national, regional and local network so the role holder must have the capability to travel to different locations primarily across the South East region, whilst being able to work flexibly, unsociable hours and participate in an out of hours on call rota.

You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or do not acquire the appropriate security clearances and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

This is your opportunity to use your communications skills to make a real contribution to keeping communities across the South East safe from terrorism and organised crime.

For further information please email [email protected] or telephone 01865 555839 quoting 14873.

The closing date is 23:55hrs on 23rd September 2018.
Interviews will be held w/c 1st October 2018.

We serve diverse communities. To enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve, we are keen to recruit people from Black, Asian and other minority backgrounds as well as a good mix of genders. You will need a wide range of skills and experiences which will enhance the services we deliver to the public including an understanding of cultural issues. If this is you, we want you to apply to join us.
