<p><strong>Media Relations Officer</strong></p> <p>Forest Enterprise England is an agency of the Forestry Commission and manages the public forest estate and the Forestry Commission’s commercial activities in England. The public forest estate is the largest single landholding in the country comprising over 1,500 separate properties including a wide range of forested and open land, housing, commercial property and a variety recreation/leisure businesses.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> South Forest District is located in southern England, crossing 6 counties from East Dorset to West Sussex – click here for a map of Forest Enterprise England Districts:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/beeh-9yve4f" rel="no-follow" target="_blank">https://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/beeh-9yve4f</a>&nbsp;<br /> <br /> The South District Marketing and Communications Team is a mixed disciplinary team responsible for all aspects of marketing the public forest estate in South Forest District, and for enhancing and protecting our reputation including both internal and external communications.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> <strong>Purpose</strong>&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Support the delivery of our media relations activity so that the South District’s forests are widely promoted and understood and our reputation protected and enhanced.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Complement the wider marketing and engagement strategy, increasing support for the forests we care for and sales of our products and services.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Provide press office support to achieve high impact coverage across a wide range of media channels to support business priorities.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> <strong>Key work areas</strong>&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Deliver media relations and PR activity that increases support for the South’s forests and sales of our products and services.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Continue to build upon the professional relationships with local journalists and increase proactive coverage of the South District’s activities.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Develop and implement proactive and responsive local communications plans that help to deliver against business objectives and deal effectively with emerging issues, including incidents and crises that generate media interest.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Provide press office function for South Forest District Office, including unforeseen incident support.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Develop and deliver media and public relations plans to support both the District marketing strategy and National marketing initiatives.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Manage District Design needs and work with both national design team and external agencies to deliver. Includes an annual partnership publication ‘The New Forest Essential Guide’ including creation of content, management of partnership content, contract management (advertising, design, print and distribution).&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Provide professional expertise and advice to district staff relating to external communications.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Carry out media analysis on scale and tone of coverage to inform future plans and campaigns.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> Collaborate with colleagues in the local Communications and Marketing Team to produce content that includes milestones achieved, spreads the message about good practice/news and gives a flavour of current work.</p> <p><strong>Closing date: 19 Oct 2018</strong></p>
