Job Details

Our consumer PR team are currently recruiting for a Communications Executive to support the team in the creation of engaging content and campaigns to drive positivity in the The National Lottery brand.

Why work at Camelot?

We currently turnover nearly £7billion per year - it may surprise you to know that we do this with a workforce of only c.750 people. This means that every one of us has a part to play and make a difference.

Camelot changes lives for the better - not just for the many millionaire winners we create but with the £30 million a week we raise to thousands of good cause projects across the UK.

National-lottery.co.uk is one of the UK’s top e-commerce sites - this is measured by web traffic and we have almost 9.5 million registered players. We also operate four of the UK’s biggest FMCG brands including the iconic Lotto and EuroMillions.

How you'll make a difference

  • Input into the development of consumer communication campaigns, bringing fresh thinking in how to reach and engage with consumers to meet objectives
  • Support in the execution of successful integrated consumer communication campaigns, from initial research through to implementation
  • Effective support for the team across multiple projects to help drive positivity in the brand including creating content for editorial media and owned channels
  • Efficient response to media enquiries resulting in positive media coverage for the brand

What you'll bring to the table

  • 2-3 years PR experience, either in an agency or in-house role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail and an ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in successfully executing integrated consumer communications campaigns, as part of a team, to deliver results against identified objectives.
  • Strong news sense and broad knowledge and understanding of how to reach consumers using traditional and new media channels.
  • A self-starter who proactively identifies improvements to ways of working, taking the initiative to come up with solutions to challenges.
  • Naturally curious, challenges the norm, whilst being receptive and considerate to other ways of approaching things
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the team and wider business at all levels, able to work as part of a team providing support across multiple projects and ‘clients’.
  • Works well in pressured environments, used to meeting tight deadlines and remains calm in stressful situations
  • Diplomatic and friendly manner with a ‘can do’ attitude.

What we’ll give you

We look after our people. There’s a competitive bonus and benefits scheme, 26 days of holiday goodness and a rather generous pension scheme. Thinking about your health? No probs - we’ll give you full private medical cover and 50% off your annual gym membership. Finally, we keep it fun. We work with a smile on our faces with loads of social activities, team nights out and outdoor bonding events.

Company

Camelot

Running one of the world’s most successful lotteries is a winning business – and as the licensed operator of the UK National Lottery for the next decade, that makes Camelot a unique place to work. Dynamic, pioneering and inspiring, Camelot transforms lives – of National Lottery winners, of Good Causes beneficiaries, and of its staff.

About Us
An organisation like no other, we are a major private company which manages a high-profile national institution – with the overall aim of maximising returns to the Good Causes in a socially responsible way. One of the UK’s leading consumer brands, around 70% of UK adults regularly play The National Lottery and annual sales are over £5 billion.

Serving the nation’s dreams is a complex business. As well as offering lottery players a range of games and a truly integrated multi-channel experience – including a 27,500-strong UK-wide retail network and a next generation website with 4 million registered customers – we also have to ensure that consumers play National Lottery games responsibly.

Our Culture
Our culture feels unique, because it is. Our people have drive and passion – their commitment and dedication is vital to the continued success of The National Lottery, as well as maintaining public trust and confidence in the integrity our operations. Camelot is a comparatively small organisation – with a Watford-based head office and other sites in Liverpool, Northampton and London – but it aims to be one of the UK’s best employers by creating a high-performance culture in which people are encouraged to give their best.

Our Values
Our company values are fundamental to the success of Camelot and The National Lottery:

  • We believe in Fair Play for our people
  • We behave with Integrity
  • We want to be Trusted to deliver
  • We work as a Team
  • We seek Excellence in everything we do
  • We take Responsibility for our actions.

What we offer
We are a respected, well-structured and innovative employer, which aims to offer our employees a 'winning experience' – offering learning, development and career progression that brings out the best in our people, as well as recognising and rewarding their achievements.

We can offer a range of exciting, and unique, career opportunities right across our business. These include the fast-moving, consumer-focused commercial area that manages games, channels and player communications; the crucial, behind-the-scenes operations function that ensures that the lottery is run efficiently; and the hubs of expertise which look after external stakeholders and employee relations, or support the rest of the company.

Reward
Our reward packages are designed to attract and retain high-quality individuals and are benchmarked to ensure that all our employees are paid highly competitively. As part of the package we offer a wide range of benefits including:

  • 26 days holiday
  • Performance bonus scheme
  • Private Medical Cover
  • Life Assurance
  • Permanent Health Insurance
  • Pension Contribution
  • Learning & Development Opportunities.
