Associate Director - Consumer

The Consumer Team team of one of the UK’s leading PR agencies is looking for a dynamic, experienced and creative Senior Associate to join their highly successful team.  This role is an unusual hybrid in that this agency are looking for someone who will be 50% traditional consumer associate and 50% representing the agency itself and the wider group in terms of their Influencer work.

As a senior member of the team reporting into the Head of Brand, you will be responsible for helping to turn the discipline and firm-wide business plan into an operational reality and direct, inspire, motivate and develop their consumer team.  You will have an overview of the wider business and identify opportunities for cross sell or synergy on clients and new business.

The Role:

• Act as an integral part of the clients’ strategic advisory team to provide senior counsel and strategy input
• Represent the wider group in terms of influencer expertise, both in new business pitches and also in delivery of ampaigns
• Manage your own portfolio of clients looking for organic growth opportunities and cross-pollination
• Support the Head of Brand in ensuring overall quality, client retention and delivery of budgeted results and profitability targets
• Lead on new business opportunities / pitches and strategic development of the team whilst maintaining and growing relationships with the wider industry
• Shape and steer media relations strategy, maintaining longstanding relationships within the industry and assist with major issues and crisis management

The Person:

• Must have agency experience in the Consumer PR sector.
• Experience of handling all media enquiries (including hostile and reactive media enquiries) and tailoring client messages and objectives as appropriate
• Ability to manage junior team members, develop strong working relationships and support their development
• Keen attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
