Piccolo, the UKs #1 premium baby food brand, is looking for a self-motivated and hardworking PR Manager (maternity cover) to lead and manage the brand’s PR: working on both integrated and standalone campaigns comprising influencer activity, experiential, trade and consumer press outreach along with general press office duties to ensure we remain the most exciting and talked about baby food brand in the UK.

With Piccolo’s Head of PR heading off on maternity leave at end-Jan 2019, Piccolo is looking for a brilliant, creative and hard-working PR Manager to support the exciting plans forecasted for the year ahead.

We need a confident leader, who is comfortable with the competitive and fast-moving world of baby food, but that is also familiar and confident in placing national consumer and business stories and sharing trade news.

Reporting in to the Head of Marketing, working closely with Piccolo’s Founder and Co-Founder, our Head of Creative, the PR Manager will be on a maternity contract with clear and established KPIs and reporting criteria.

The Role

Next year is a really exciting one for Piccolo. Now firmly established in all major supermarkets and hundreds of independent retailers across the country, we want to focus on driving consumer awareness and loyalty. With NPD launches, regional experiential activities and a full brand pipeline of activities in H1, we want to ensure we are making a big impact and landing our key point of difference to win consumers over.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Feed in to the PR strategy, as marketing strategy and plans firm up
  • Press office: Always-on management of media enquiries and interview requests, preparing statements and Q&As
  • Key Coverage: Drive on-message coverage, both proactive and reactive, in relevant target titles that hits our key messages
  • Campaigns: Work with our Head of Marketing to ensure we have strong PR coverage to support our key campaigns including NPD and brand refresh
  • Influencers: Leveraging existing and develop new relationships with established or up and coming influencers
  • Partnerships: Manage partnership activities 
  • Reporting: Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on weekly basis

Key experience required

  • Mid level Public Relations experience in (ideally with prior start up experience)
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful PR campaigns at both national and regional level
  • Strong relationships with both national and regional business and industry media outlets
  • Creative and innovative approach to driving PR and coverage in competitive market
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other marketing functions, specifically digital and design
  • Results orientated, with sense of urgency and proactive approach to all tasks
  • Enthusiastic and dynamic, yet collaborative team player with a high degree of integrity and personal responsibility
  • Ability to react positively to rapidly evolving brand requirements
  • Desire to work for a small and ambitious company and happy to roll-up their sleeves and get stuck in
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Educated to degree level as minimum

About You:

You’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have a demonstrable track record in FMCG wiht PR. Enthusiastic, pragmatic and resilient, you can demonstrate your agility to transition at pace, work to tight deadlines, communicate effectively and motivate team members around you to help support your objectives.
