Job Details

Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. From Crossrail – Europe’s largest civil engineering project– to investment in extraordinary stations and major programmes of electrification, we're involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures that this country has ever seen.

The Anglia route which comprises over 1,700 miles of track from London Liverpool street station to Norwich in the east and Cambridge in the west, the North London line from Gospel Oak to Barking East, and Essex Thameside from Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness. With over 63.6 million passenger journeys, Liverpool Street is the third busiest railway station in Britain and the route is well connected with two airports, Stansted and Southend. Crossrail, when completed in 2019, will run from Shenfield to Liverpool Street and connect to Heathrow.

As we embark on investing more than £2bn in running the railway in our region over the next five years, and on building a bigger and better railway, we need a communications manager to support delivering this meaningful programme.

We are looking for an experienced, creative and hungry communications professional to join the Anglia route communications team at a crucial point in our railway calendar. You will work closely with:

  • project sponsors
  • delivery teams
  • funding partners

Every day you will craft creative communications plans as part of our Railway Upgrade Plan. With the wider communications team, you will deliver a suite of activity to promote the investment story and enable community engagement. All of this will reduce the impact of our work on our neighbours.

Working within a large team of eleven, you will be involved in:

  • Devising a communications plan and then implementing the delivery of it
  • Arranging community events, press and media visits across the route
  • You’ll build promotional materials for some of our biggest projects including the £170m Lee Valley rail programme, major re-signalling projects across the region and the renewal of Liverpool street station’s roof

Do you have experience of devising communications plans and various events? If so, joining Network Rail and the Anglia route, will give you the chance to develop your skills and learn from the team around you. It’s a time to be part of Anglia route in Network Rail, with a chance to create a real difference in a growing region and the future of rail travel.
