ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR – Capital Markets / Corporate Comms

Our client a trusted provider of strategic communications in crisis, financial, public affairs, reputation management and digital is currently looking for an Associate Director to join their team.

The Team:
The team works across a range of financial services businesses including banking, insurance, private equity and asset management. The successful candidate will join a diverse and dynamic team and will play an integral role in building and developing communications strategies in support of some of the UK’s most high-profile companies.

Duties:

• Devising and implementing communications strategies and programmes
• Developing messaging materials for communications collaterals (key messages, proposals, presentations, scripts, press releases, Q&A etc.)
• Researching, news monitoring, press analysis and summaries
• Working on global account teams and liaising with colleagues in international offices
• Forging productive relationships with clients, press and investment analysts
• Leading client engagement
• Media relations – understanding of the broad media landscape, pitching stories and responding to in- coming call
• Buy and sell-side perception studies
• New business
• Researching for new business opportunities
• Leading pitch research; Developing and shaping content and presenting at pitches  
• Establishing and deepening wider industry relationships

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• extensive relevant industry experience i.e. in Public Relations
• Bachelor’s level degree or MBA or equivalent
• Demonstrable interest and understanding of business environment and current affairs, including awareness of the developments in and opportunities around digital and social media
• Good understanding of how the City and the broader financial community operates
• Able to build strong relationships; commands the confidence of others internally & externally
• Hard working, flexible, adaptable and proactive
• Organised, efficient, takes ownership, trusted to deliver to deadline
• Independent, clear and creative thinking, takes initiatives, goes beyond the expected, spots opportunities and innovates
• Continually seeks to broaden knowledge and contact base through networking; shares expertise
• Responsible and trusted to work with confidential information
• Communicates persuasively in oral and written work
• Good attention to detail
• Proactive and a self-starter
• Numerate, experience in working with financial information an advantage
• Experience working with financial PR agencies
• Speak German or Italian (desirable not essential)
