Senior Public Affairs Manager, Bedford - We are sourcing for a unique and newly-created position with a global medical technology company in the Bedford area, with 2-3 days/week in London. Experience in the medical or healthcare arena is essential here; this can be from medical technology, bio-science and pharmaceutical to trade organisations and not-for-profit, but it is absolutely vital that you have this before applying. Any experience with in vitro, diagnostics or women's health - specifically, cancer treatment - would be especially beneficial, to maximise your success with this ground-breaking company as it continues to make serious waves in these unique and notable arenas.

Coming from a position of public affairs management currently, you will drive awareness of the organisation in the medical device and cancer treatment spaced, ensuring that they are involved in the right groups, discussions, networking events and organisational bodies. You will meet and build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, vital stakeholders (including the press and wider media) and governmental officials in the healthcare space, understanding the regulations and future vision for healthcare, using your extensive industry knowledge and technical sensitivity to assess, report on - and subsequently take action with - how it affects current and future commercial activity.

You will be an outstanding relationship builder, engaging both external stakeholders and opinion leaders as well as board-level directors internally. You will be an ambassador for the brand and have a thirst for knowledge in this arena, as well as being approachable and professional, maintaining the essential connections internally, commercially and governmentally.

You will think strategically and commercially at all times, identifying opportunities and threats, reporting back and acting upon your findings. You'll work with the Head of Corporate Communications, but this newly-created position involves a huge degree of trust and autonomy, relying on your communication skills, existing network and commercial awareness to succeed.

If you are a Public Affairs Manager in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical technology or cancer treatment spaces then this could very well be your next perfect role, and we'd be very keen to hear form you if you are. The role is based in the Bedford area but will involve frequent trips to build relationships and commercial partnerships, mostly in London and usually 2-3 days a week, so you must be ok with this.

It could suit those living in Bedfordshire or London, as well as Cambridge, Huntingdon, St Neots, Northampton, Peterborough, Kettering, Milton Keynes, Stevenage and Dunstable.
