Communications Planner - Local Government Body

A new position has arisen for a Communications Planner to join a prominent government body. Essentially, you will be supporting and planning communication strategies and enhancing the body’s reputation.

You will be overseeing the communications planning function, working with the policy team and ensuring all events, news announcements and campaigns are planned and executed to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the media, the ability to deal with crisis issues and be able to pinpoint potential issues.

Responsibilities:

• Improving the communications planning function

• Working across the whole organisation, building relationships with members of different teams

• Budget management

• Planning events, campaigns and news announcements

• Brainstorming income generation opportunities

Requirements:

• Be able to use your own initiative and digest complex issues

• Ideally experience in the public or private sector

• Excellent written and oral skills

• A good understanding of politics, local government and the public sector
