BACKGROUND AND POSITION SUMMARY:

ULI has grown significantly in Europe over the past three to five years by focusing on the delivery of research relevant to the members in Europe and strongly enhancing the activity level of our National Councils all across Europe. To ensure consolidation and enable the platform to continue its growth, investment in marketing and communications was identified as one of the main priorities and the recruitment of a dedicated Associate Marketing and Communications alongside a Director, Marketing and Communications is a key element of that investment. The main aim is to increase ULI’s visibility in Europe and enhance our brand, both on a pan-European as well as local level.

The main responsibility of the Senior Associate, Marketing and Communications (equivalent to a Marketing and Communications Executive) is to implement and maintain various marketing and communications initiatives, with a specific focus on the website, digital marketing and branding. The professional will work closely with the Director, Marketing and Communications and the global communications team to create leverage and synergy, and to ensure quality and consistency in Europe. Key elements of the role include the execution of the email and social media marketing of landmark events, keeping the website up to date, social media posts, and supporting on-the-ground event communications.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Websites

  • Manages the ULI Europe websites with regular and timely updates, and periodic analytics to improve traffic and usage.
  • Curates content from the National Councils, which includes event highlights, major initiatives, content pieces and leadership updates
  • Prepares the content, including text and visuals as required, and posts on the website
  • Closely collaborates with global communications colleagues and HQ to implement new initiatives to enhance member experience through the websites.
  • Work with the Director, Marketing and Communications to orchestrate campaigns to drive traffic to the European websites.

Event marketing and communications

  • Execute marketing and communications plans for major events (such as the ULI Europe Conference, Real Estate Forum), report launches, and programmes in Europe.
  • Gathers information, prepares visuals, and drafts email campaigns for Europe’s regional and key local events as required.
  • Execute the e-mail marketing strategy for ULI Europe, including the maintenance of a pan-European e-mail marketing calendar.
  • Support the National Councils team and local National Councils in the creation and sending of event marketing emails.
  • Trains to be a super-user of Magnet Mail and MMS Netforum, with an ability to implement content automation to enhance member communication, development and engagement.

Social media

  • Work with the Director, Marketing and Communications and global director of digital marketing to map out the social media strategy and plan for Europe; implements the plan with tracking and measurement
  • Develop and implement the regional content and event marketing calendar across ULI Europe social media platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Assists with administration and adherence of global social media policies for National Councils.
  • Collaborates as an active member of the global digital marketing team and contributes to strengthening ULI’s global brand through social sharing.
  • Tracks, measures and reports on the results of engagement through social media.

Collaterals

  • Support the creation and distribution of a monthly ULI Europe e-newsletter.
  • Support the writing of speeches, press releases, and articles around key events and initiatives.
  • Pro-actively track communications, social media and marketing metrics and create regular reports on these metrics
  • Supports the creation of visual content for Europe’s websites and social media platforms.
  • Works with the Director, Marketing and Communications, global Design Director, and/or design resource in the region to refresh and customize presentations and collateral materials for the region.

Global marketing and communications

  • Ensure that all communications and marketing materials (both local and pan-European) meet global brand standards.
  • Play an integral role in global launches, announcements, member experience initiatives, etc
  • Actively contribute to the global marketing and communications team from a European perspective

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience working in communications, marketing, or a related role
  • Experience working in an international business environment desired
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
  • Experience with website and social media management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and multitasking
  • Proficiency in one other European language desired

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public affairs, media, or related field required
