Set up under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is committed to safeguarding the public against any detrimental impact brought about by gambling. We do this by keeping crime out, protecting children and vulnerable people and ensuring the commercial gambling industry is run fairly and openly and we work with the legal system, the public health system, community groups and the industry itself to understand how we can protect the interests of as many people as possible, as effectively as possible.

We’re currently seeking a Stakeholder Co-ordinator to join our busy Stakeholder and Public Affairs Team on a six month contract and help to build positive, long-lasting relationships with our Stakeholders.

Joining our Communications team means being at the heart of everything we do. The team works with every department to communicate the Gambling Commission’s work and make sure we are not only being heard, but that we are engaging in real dialogue with our audiences. That means we are always coming up with new ways to speak to them, whether that’s politicians, the industry, consumers or colleagues within the Commission. The variety of audiences we speak to mean the work is diverse, interesting and challenging. It’s a growing team that’s helping set the agenda and shape public debate on high-profile issues relating to gambling.

As a Stakeholder Co-ordinator, you’ll help to build working relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians, government ministers and officials, local government, third sector bodies, gambling operators, businesses and others.

Supported by the Stakeholder Manager and the Public Affairs Manager, you will:

- Develop materials to brief senior Commission management for meetings with stakeholders
- Research and draft parliamentary answers and other important documents
- Organise events, co-ordinate invitations and provide advice on attendance
- Ensure that all stakeholder information is up-to-date

To be considered, you’ll need experience of the following:

- Communications, including an understanding and interest in communications, social media and PR
- Taking a creative approach to communications which can be demonstrated through previous examples of your work
- Co-ordinating branding and materials
- Organising events and meetings

A demonstrable awareness of the latest trends in communications, events and digital communications is also essential.

As the Stakeholder Co-ordinator, you’ll be highly-organised and able to work under pressure and effectively prioritise work. You’ll also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and great multi-tasking abilities.

The closing date for applications is the 30th January 2019.
