This highly energetic energy company is seeking an equally committed Policy and Stakeholder Manager to join the Communications team. You will preferably have a background in energy, regulated industries or members’ organisations and be looking to make this role your own with your positive attitude and enthusiastic approach. You will be well rewarded including a generous holiday allowance, work in their central London offices and be part of a skilled and supportive team.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Policy and UK & European Head of Press & Public Affairs, you will be responsible for:

  • Drafting and define positioning of governmental policy documents
  • Acting as a central resource for managing the internal communications on relevant policy
  • Managing the drafting and submission of responses to relevant Departmental policy consultations and Parliamentary Select Committee inquiries
  • Building and managing long-term stakeholder relationships and partnerships necessary to promote policy positions to Government, Parliament and the media.
  • Assisting with drafting and execution of wider Press & Public Affairs communications related to policy positions to Stakeholders in Westminster, the media and wider energy industry
  • Managing stakeholder groups
  • Supporting the Communications Team

Skills:

  • A strong understanding of public policy and the policy formulation process, its political and media context and its role in wider external communications strategy
  • A creative, enthusiastic, self-starter who is keen to take ownership of the role and drive forward the development of the organisation’s capabilities
  • The ability to understand complex technical and regulatory issues and communicate them in an easy to understand and accessible way.
  • Strong written skills to produce high quality publications, briefings and submissions. The ability to tailor quality writing to different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work within a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage own time to deliver to deadlines.
  • Able to work independently as well as a team player
  • Beneficial to have a background in energy or utilities sector context
