Fancy being at the heart of communicating the key role of a high-profile FTSE250 business?

How about working in a sector which is fundamental to our country’s communities and economy?

So if that that’s piqued your interest, perhaps you could be our new Communications & Engagement Manager here at Stagecoach?

In this newly created role you’ll be part of a small but perfectly formed team, supporting our Group’s rail and bus companies. With a focus on developing and managing relationships with key external stakeholders, as well as delivering corporate social and digital media activities, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our individual brands – including East Midlands Trains and Stagecoach UK Bus, to enhance the reputation of the business.

Working with our Group Head of Media and Public Affairs and your communications colleagues, this is a fantastic opportunity where you’ll be involved in:

  • Improving the Group's engagement and insight at national, regional and local level through a programme of events, meetings and surveys
  • Identifying potential platforms to support the corporate narrative and enhance the reputation and profile of the Group
  • Preparing briefing material and messaging for executives on high profile or sensitive issues
  • Developing and delivering a programme of digital communications to support the corporate narrative and enhance the reputation of the Group
  • Managing the Stagecoach Group corporate website, including updating content and recommending improvements
  • Working with Group communications colleagues and individual brands to create engaging digital content for the Group's corporate social media channels, delivering integrated communications campaigns
  • Managing external agencies responsible for web development and corporate digital campaign activity.
  • Advising on the effective use of digital channels in a crisis
  • Evaluating external stakeholder and corporate digital communications activity
  • Capturing key emerging issues and actions from our external stakeholders

And what a business to do that in – Stagecoach Group is one of the UK's biggest public transport groups. We operate buses, coaches, trains and trams. Every day our transport services take millions of people to work, bring customers to our high streets, help young people access education and build new skills, and draw families, friends and communities together.

For nearly 40 years, we've pioneered greener and smarter mobility, and built a sustainable business with one aim: providing safe, high quality, value travel where every customer matters.

There are a few things we need from you if you’re interested in this role and our business:

  • You’ll have proven success in developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, and influencing perception
  • You’ll be able to process sensitive and complex information and translate this into clear messaging to a range of audiences through a variety of channels
  • Your experience will ideally include managing and developing website content and social media channels, as well as providing engaging and integrated digital content as part of wider communications campaigns and stakeholder engagement activity

Ultimately, you’ll have a great understanding of communication and engagement tactics, tools and techniques so you can provide timely and considered advice to the business.

If you’re chomping at the bit to get stuck in, send your CV to Emma Knight, Group Head of Media and Public Affairs by clicking 'Apply' and we’ll be back in touch ASAP. Likewise, if you’d like a confidential conversation first, please pop Emma an email to arrange a convenient time.

    No agencies please.

Closing date for applications: Friday 29 March 2019
