Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to assist and support the PR team in the delivery and roll-out of a comprehensive and exciting PR programme in the GB market.

The role ranges from PR outreach (both traditional and digital) to working with the appointed PR agency on projects, to co-ordinating media visits to the island of Ireland alongside supporting the team on admin, finance and reporting duties.

Note: This role may involve some travel and work outside normal business hours.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assist with the delivery of a wide range of exciting publicity projects and campaigns in conjunction with the PR team and external PR agency.
  • Assist in the development of content for press releases and e-zines for issue to our media database. 
  • Co-ordinate media visits in collaboration with our sister agencies – Failte Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland.
  • Research and develop Itineraries for the media to drive regional growth and season extension.
  • Work collaboratively with the Brand Partnership team to add PR support to air and sea carrier campaigns.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all media visits, corresponding and general coverage on the internal Publicity Analysis Tool (PAT) and pulling relevant reports when requested.
  • Provide regular updates of coverage delivered to PR Manager for KPI reports.
  • Co-ordinate presentations showcasing all GB publicity activity and corresponding results for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update new content on Tourism Ireland’s GB media room and highlight via Twitter from the GB Media account.
  • Assist in the development of influencer & blogger contacts for Social Energiser campaigns.
  • Support photography and information requests from media.
  • Assist with budget management and adhere to all financial company policy and procedures.
  • Be available to support events, shows and familiarisation trips as arranged by the Publicity team and wider GB team, which may fall outside normal work hours.
  • Scan and report on competitors’ activity to monitor key press and media activity.
  • Ensure adherence in your area of responsibility to the company’s GDPR compliance policies and procedures.
  • Such other duties as the company may from time-to-time reasonably require.
