Position Summary
Media Relations roles don’t get much more exciting than this! You’ll work with some of the world’s most recognisable brands, such as Nescafé, KitKat, Purina, Maggi, Munch Bunch and Buxton. Reporting directly to the Head of Media Relations & Corporate Digital, based at either our Head Office in Gatwick or our York office. You’ll have the ability to flex your communication and PR skills and really get close to an exciting, global business. This is a 12 months fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave.

A day in the life of...
You’ll play a key part in bringing the news of our brands to the masses, working on exciting product launches, development and takin. You will also be part of a team building a climate of trust through both traditional media and our social media channels. You’ll strive to deliver greater media exposure for Nestlé's progress in nutrition, health and wellness (NHW) and not to mention our sustainability priorities. You’ll work hard to accelerate Nestlé’s overall reach coupled with managing any negative issues we may experience.

You’ll also:

  • Advise, create and execute media plans that deliver greater recognition for Nestlé and its brands supporting our corporate priorities.
  • Support our corporate communications campaigns developing and implementing integrated strategies that easily connect our news agenda, company priorities and products across all our business.
  • Play a key role in accelerate the implementation of our media engagement programme to build and maintain relationships with journalists at a regional, business and trade level. You’ll also foster relationships between bloggers and press contacts across the industry.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate issues and crisis that might arise through engagement of relevant internal and externals stakeholders.

The team faces a host of issues, and the role involves working on both stand-alone matters as well as projects which may encompass the wider Corporate Communications team and Global teams. You’ll be working with a range of key, internal and external stakeholders where building trusted relationships is fundamental to success; the team is keen to partner closely with the business, and you’ll have particular responsibilities in this regard.

What will make you successful?
You will have experience in media relations and PR. Ideally you will have previous experience within a similar in-house role or from an agency; either way, we’re expecting extensive knowledge of developing and implementing proactive media campaigns to support our key corporate agendas across traditional and digital platforms.

You will have exceptional communication and writing skills, together with a practical, pragmatic and proactive approach. You’ll be happy to work independently across a range of projects at the same time and in a context that can be complex and continually moving. You’ll have an understanding of the competitive environment in which we work and will be passionate about performing well for your client groups developing long standing relationships while offering challenge that gains buy-in for everything we do externally for Nestlé.
