Going on an exciting journey of transformation, we’re creating a brand new strategic relationships team to improve collaboration and build stronger partnerships with a diverse range of health organisations. Taking ownership of your own portfolio of strategic relationships, you’ll understand what makes our partners tick and ensure greater involvement with mutually beneficial initiatives.

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

We cannot achieve our mission alone. We must foster greater collaboration and strengthen our relationships with a diverse range of health system partners. As one of our three new Strategic Relationships Officers, you’ll influence the future direction of our new team and help us to build valuable long-term relationships with health regulators, professional bodies and patient advocacy groups.

Working closely with a variety of colleagues, you’ll proactively manage strategically valuable relationships and plan and co-ordinate engagement activities. This interesting and rewarding role in a complex environment also involves providing strategic advice, identifying new opportunities and ensuring a shared understanding of mutual issues, agendas and goals. This is all so we can support one another and help to improve the nation’s health.

An excellent communicator, networker and presenter, your wide-ranging relationship management experience must include supporting collaboration, monitoring relationships and delivering development plans and engagement strategies. Skilled at researching issues, analysing policies and making clear recommendations, you should be able to solve problems, use our SRM system and produce regular briefings and updates. You’ll also benefit from a background in healthcare, PR or external affairs.

A great company to work for, we can offer you good opportunities to develop
your skills and career and offer benefits such as:

  • A good pension (15% employer contribution)
  • 25 days’ holiday a year, increasing by one day for each year of service up to a maximum of 30 days
  • Health screens
  • Private Medical Insurance (PMI)
  • Interest free ticket loans
  • Exclusive discounts
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Flexi-working

If you’ve got the credibility to build valuable relationships in a fast-paced environment and impact on the future of UK healthcare, please click apply.
