This role will manage and develops a team of channel managers to ensure that we can work effectively with the creative team to deliver world class content and experiences to our people.  This includes managing our digital channel managers and internal events team.,

Works closely with the Creative Account Manager(s) and Senior Creative Manager as part of a virtual team to manage the delivery of all BT-wide content, ensuring that all content is shared on the appropriate channel(s) and is timed effectively.

Decides on the appropriate Channel Managers for each BT-wide content project, working closely with the Creative Account Manager(s) and Senior Creative Manager.

Owns the relationship with IT, ensuring that there is appropriate alignment and support for all of IC’s channels when needed – using the high-level IC plan and detailed creative plan to help manage demand and expectations.

Ensures that all outputs from the Channel Managers are aligned with the BT brand guidelines and reflect any best practice, continuous improvement and disruptive innovative opportunities, ensuring that the team of Channel Managers work like an agency for all BT-wide communications.

Owns the internal events strategy and delivery plan – interfacing with the leadership team to manage demand and ensure best ROI and strategic return for our events.

Owns the agency relationships for events and channels, and will guide their team to keep these relationships maintained, running bi-annual procurement processes with procurement and finance to keep our roster up to date.

Accountabilities

  • Drives effectiveness and innovation for all channels
  • Decides on the most appropriate Channel Managers for each BT-wide content project, working closely with the Creative Account Manager(s) and Senior Creative Manager as part of a virtual team
  • Ensures alignment with the BT brand guidelines
  • Owns and manages the relationship with IT, events agencies and procurement / finance / production.
  • Ensures there is appropriate alignment and support for all of IC’s channels when needed
  • Leads, manages and develops all Channel Managers
  • Ensures the Channel Managers have the training and equipment they need to do their jobs brilliantly
  • Supports the Head of Creative by reporting and acting on any disruptive innovation or continuous improvement opportunities that could help to improve outputs from the Creative Team

Skills required for the job

  • Excellent understanding of  employee communication channels
  • Excellent understanding of the BT brand
  • Excellent creative abilities and knowledge
  • Excellent record of delivering large scale events
  • Excellent stakeholder management ability – ability to navigate conflicting objectives and priorities

Experience you would be expected to have

  • Experienced and senior channels expert
  • Experienced events professional
  • Experienced leader - able to manage channel Managers to tight timelines to deliver high quality outputs
  • Strong understanding of IT, production, agency management
