This is an exciting time to join the Group Communications team, as Sports PR and Marketing Manager. This role will report to the Group Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications and will have a dotted line to the Group Sports Director.

Background to the role:

The INEOS profile in the global sporting world has grown rapidly and we now need a full time person responsible for managing that interface with opinion formers and the general public.

INEOS has supported grass roots sports for over 5 years through the Go Run For Fun (GRFF) initiative.  This grew three years ago with INEOS support for and adoption of, The Daily Mile (TDM).

Two years ago INEOS announced a £110 million sole sponsorship arrangement with Ben Ainslie’s UK Americas Cup bid – previously Landrover BAR.   Interest in this event will increase significantly in the run up to the Cup in Auckland in March 2021.

Most recently, INEOS announced the acquisition of Tour Racing Ltd, previously Team Sky, the most successful professional cycling team in the world. This has raised interest in INEOS as a sports brand significantly.

INEOS is now working to develop an attempt at the 2 hour marathon barrier with the world’s greatest marathon runner, Eliud Kipchoge. The event will take place in London in the autumn of 2019.

In addition to these specific sponsorships INEOS has been the lead sponsor for Lausanne Hockey Club since 2010 and, more recently took on ownership of Lausanne FC.

Develop and deliver a coherent strategy for the marketing and communication of INEOS sporting activities.

Work as the key link between the Corporate Communications team and the INEOS Sports team.

Lead the INEOS communications and activation activity for Project 1.59. This will be the overriding activity for the job holder through until late 2019.

Ensure that the impact of issues impacting the overall INEOS business on our sports teams is anticipated, understood and managed. Key issues would be the generic plastics concerns and particularly the issue of marine litter and the development and promotion of UK shale gas.

Develop effective activation plans to maximise the benefit of sporting involvement to enhance the INEOS brand.

Develop social media strategies to promote INEOS sporting involvement and to counter negative responses to INEOS involvement in specific sporting activities.
