A NEW and exciting opportunity has arisen in a leading network firm for an Associate Director of Social Healthcare. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering campaign concepts help to shape the social health service offering across the agency, spanning pharma, biotech, consumer health and wellbeing. You’ll play a ‘hybrid’ role helping to bridge the Social & Innovation and Healthcare practices, working closely with those who have deep social strategy and platform experience as well as healthcare communications practitioners.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Leading development of compelling social health strategies and channel plans, providing oversight and guidance to the team in executing these programmes effectively
  • You will provide senior strategic counsel across healthcare clients, providing strategic planning and advice through the lens of effective social content strategy
  • Ensure a high standard of quality across content deliverables and superior client service, always with an eye to driving the satisfaction that supports client retention and growth
  • Contribute to global and regional network initiatives and knowledge sharing for the Social Health global practice
  • Develop new business by identifying opportunities for organic growth, responding to new opportunities via external briefs and cross-practice identified opportunities, and leading proposals and pitches
  • Creating and managing the social health service offering, including product development, marketing collateral development, sales training, team service delivery training, and integration with the global service offering
  • Motivating, guiding and managing your direct reports to build a highly engaged and productive team

Ideal experience will be:

  • Deep experience in developing and leading integrated communications programmes for healthcare clients in an agency setting, where social has been a significant contributor to programme success
  • In-depth understanding of all the tactics at your disposal across social platforms/channels, spanning across the spectrum of paid, earned, owned and shared media
  • Evidence of having collaboratively worked with multiple stakeholders within an integrated agency environment, from creative to planning to analytics, to build the best possible programmes and outcomes for clients
  • Thorough understanding of the pharma regulatory environment both in the UK and the region, and experience in working with clients on mitigating and managing risk in social, and building their comfort with how to do so
  • Exceptional client service and organic growth capabilities, from developing relationships, managing day-to-day client needs and identifying and acting upon business development opportunities as they arise
  • Ability to mentor and manage a junior team who manages campaigns in channel, driving high standards for ongoing delivery while inspiring the team to further develop and improve their skills and efficiency

As a senior member of the firm, your remit will also involve making wider contributions to the agency overall. This will include leading and supporting cross-office initiatives in respect of marketing, business development, strategy and culture.
