We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic consumer Communications Officer to join our vibrant Communications and CSR department based in our UK Head Office in Wimbledon, South London.

This role will be is an ideal opportunity for a confident, friendly and professional individual to work in a hands-on role, in a department that is responsible for developing and shaping Lidl's image.

What will you do?

  • Managing and executing food and non-food campaigns
  • Assist in the day to day management of Lidl’s PR agency (consumer side)
  • Assist in the day to day management of Lidl’s busy press office
  • General support in executing events e.g. wine tastings, Christmas showcase
  • Formulate and respond to incoming press enquiries
  • Work with the team to devise and implement Lidl UK’s consumer communications strategy 
  • Devise and distribute national, regional and trade product announcements
  • Ongoing media and stakeholder relations
  • Ongoing PR reporting
  • Budget assistance and admin

What will you need?

  • Previous PR / Communications experience, either in-house or at an agency
  • Previous experience in FMCG, food & drink PR is desirable
  • Ability to independently manage projects and campaigns and report back to senior staff
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work across several projects at once
  • Have a can-do attitude and be willing to take on any challenge
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to adapt to the company’s tone of voice are essential
  • Ability to predict media agenda’s and respond to them effectively
  • Strong knowledge of the UK media landscape and good media contacts
  • Natural flair for problem solving
  • Flexible and willing to work, on occasion, outside of normal workings hours to deal with or escalate issues that arise

  • £27,000 - £30,000 per annum (subject to experience)
