Account Director or rising Senior Account Manager -  Consumer (Global Luxury) – Top Agency – Camden, London - £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, plus benefits and strong career progression

My client is a fully integrated communications agency, based in Camden. They help brands tell their stories through all means of content, whether words, pictures or moving image, build their reputation through emotional connections and solve their communications problems. And they do it all over the world.

My client is now seeking an experienced Account Director or rising Senior Account Manager who can lead on key integrated and global projects within their Global Luxury and Lifestyle division. Household name brands you will work on include a luxury diamonds/jewellery brand, iconic fashion label, and leading drinks brand. The successful candidate will be a self-starter whilst also being a team player.  A driven project lead, motivator and someone with commercial awareness and can demonstrate understanding of integrated communications across PR/Social/ Content and Owned channel initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To develop and lead the strategic direction, media outreach and client servicing of accounts 
  • Maintain and stretch existing client activity, as well as support the introduction of new clients and business within the sector
  • To drive and own projects and campaigns from inception to execution
  • Support Associates to help generate and grow new clients and be accountable for all of your projects 
  • Be able to strategically input on growth and opportunities with existing clients (eg developing creative campaign ideas) 
  • To manage the team and develop juniors and be able to demonstrate ownership, good understanding of accountability and growth of accounts
  • Be able to manage a number of different work streams and clients simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as lead day-to-day contact with sector clients, including leading update meetings and calls where relevant
  • Lead the team through setting out clear roles & responsibilities and making sure the team is hitting deadlines and sticking to the scope of work for each project
  • Support the team to develop integrated PR plans for campaigns; demonstrating an understanding of global media and an established network of media contacts and develop understanding of other areas of media (digital/ social and paid)
  • Help plan, organise, motivate and lead the activities of Account Executive / Account Manager and any other support staff where relevant (eg freelancers),
  • Undertaking staff appraisals as directed by Director(s) and developing skills as integrated media experts with a determination to deliver above and beyond on every project 
  • Assist the team on media outreach / sell-in for campaigns if required during busy periods
  • Ensure all teams across the business are fully briefed on projects (eg timings, key messages, branding, client and media requirements, etc, briefs for content and creative work)
  • Help prepare and write proposals and lead pitches for extension of activities with current clients, as well as support the Associates with the introduction of new business into the division
  • Help to manage client budgets, including: programme costing; budget monitoring; invoicing and purchase order tracking; and managing profitability of company accounts
  • Managing and mentoring team members

Essential skills:

  • Proven agency experience as an Account Director or strong Senior Account Manager with experience working on integrated big brand consumer communications 

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels; with strong verbal communication skills, and ability to write appropriately for differing requirements (including global toolkits, proposals, press releases, case studies, etc)

  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as manage others effectively within it – previous experience of managing a team of at least two people
  • An ability to prepare client documentation, schedules, step-by-step action plans as well as client proposals
  • Solid organisational skills, including multi-tasking and time-management
  • Experienced in content creation and understanding of film/design & photography production processes
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills, whilst being comfortable presenting
  • Proven experience of relationships with a range of broadcast, digital and print media across luxury lifestyle media
