Mission:
The Social Media Manager leads a successful team that delivers world-class social media content across some of the most successful accounts in sport.

Key responsibilities:
- Managing a dedicated (English and multilingual) social media editorial team, which means:
(i)     devising and applying a strategy in line with business objectives that takes advantage of exclusive UEFA access, assets and content;
(ii)    creating a cross-platform content plan incorporating multiple competitions and multiple languages with a coherent approach to each;
(iii)  providing data-driven feedback to the team and adjusting plans and content mixes based on performance/algorithm changes/new ideas etc.;
(iv)   ensuring content is delivered via the agreed posting, tagging, promotion, geotargeting and reporting  procedures – either directly on the platform or using third-party tools;
- Managing internal initiatives including sponsor content deliveries (including attending and presenting at digital working groups), CRM, UEFA.tv and promotional campaigns – this will involve being the key contact in Nyon and delivering plans to social media editors;
- Ensuring proper performance tracking, KPIs, data analyses and other agreed data metrics are implemented and shared with key stakeholders for all campaigns and competitions;
- Optimising engagement around major UEFA events, such as the UEFA Champions League final and UEFA EURO 2020, including planning and executing on-site activations;
- Fostering productive working relationships and understanding development opportunities on various social media platforms where UEFA has a presence, and emerging ones where UEFA could have;
- Providing social media content-related input into the planning and delivery of club and national-team football on UEFA’s native digital platforms including apps and syndication services;
- Working on a referral strategy and creating a long-term content planner.

Profile of successful candidate:
 

Experience required:
- from 4 to 6 years' experience of managing a team of content editors and accounts with large and passionate fan bases for a leading organisation, preferably in sport
- from 4 to 6 years' experience of commissioning, editing and posting content based on a data-driven social media strategy
- from 4 to 6 years' experience of working or cooperating with clients, sponsors or partners

Education:
- Additional further training in media, communications or marketing would be an advantage

Languages:
- English / Proficient 

Additional requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of all social platforms and tools that will support content delivery and reporting 
- Understanding of working within rights frameworks
- Knowledge of the digital industry, social media trends and how developing technologies can be used to meet business objectives
- Excellent administrative, organisational and presentation skills, with an ability to prioritise, manage and meet deadlines
- Open-minded, flexible and able to deal with people effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
- Solid understanding of European football and the positioning of UEFA competitions
- Microsoft Office / Advanced
