Press and Communications Officer 
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 + Package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with an interest, and experience press office communications. 

My client is one of the country's leading business organisations. It is a national body for a network 53 Accredited Chambers of Commerce. This organisation has an influential voice on a range of national issues. They sit at the heart of local business communities providing representation, information and guidance to its members. 

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting press releases and media comment relating to government announcements
  • Developing proactive media plans as part of a broader communications strategy
  • Organize broadcast opportunities and prepare briefs to support company spokespeople
  • Identify, pitch and develop thought-leadership opportunities and draft opinion articles and letters
  • Develop digital content for external and internal purposes, aligned to company presswork, including filming videos and creating engaging social media content 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to build strong relationships with media contacts
  • Digital skills and a strong social media interest
  • Ability to develop knowledge of important business-related issues across a range of policy areas
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, and demonstrable experience of multi-tasking and prioritizing work to fit with tight deadlines.
