One of the UK’s leading not-for-profit housing associations is currently looking for a Senior External Communications Manager to join their tight-knit, in house team. This client prides themselves on the care and housing of older people through ensuring each person’s individual needs are met. Predominantly, your role will be to enhance and protect the reputation of the organisation, through providing expert advice on proactive and reactive public relations. This role would suit an individual wanting to join a passionate and extremely caring association!

Responsibilities:

• Leading the development and implementation of a media relations strategy

• Develop and maintaining an effective press office function to build the client’s reputation in the national, local and specialist media

• Developing and delivering campaign strategy and tactics for brand campaigns and brand awareness

• Managing successful launch events for new developments and regular local community events

• Supporting thought leadership with relevant activities such as commissioning research and strategic partnerships

A successful candidate will:

• A proven track record of responsibility for media relations at a senior level in a customer-facing business, preferably within a regulated environment

• Ability to influence stakeholders at a senior level

• Have previous agency management experience and experience of budget management

• Be a driven self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude

• Have strong skills in negotiation and persuasion

• Have a strong news sense

•  Have a good understanding of the media and new media environment
