£39,438.00 per annum based at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 2DN. This position is based inside one of our main area offices, click HERE to see a 360 degree view of the building and surrounding area along with a view of the reception. Based from County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston-Upon-Thames, Surrey KT1 2DN (we are looking to relocate back into the county in 2020). About the roles – agile and creative

With our rapid improvement journey in full swing and a senior management team with an appetite to do things differently we need our Communications team to be the heartbeat of the council in supporting delivery of our Community Vision 2030. Andrea Newman, our newly appointed Director of Communications is looking to build a team that is agile and creative in its thinking and delivery. To support this we are looking to recruit to this crucial position.

You will play a key role in supporting the new Director of Communications and her vision for transforming external communications and engagement. You will need to have experience of managing high profile media campaigns as well as demonstrate your ability to think differently and land complex messages which have impact. You will be responsible for supporting a high quality communications service that promotes the needs of the individual services of the council while supporting the overall objectives of the council. You will be confident communicating your ideas appropriately at all levels of the organisation. While you will work as part of the newly formed communications team, this role primarily works in support of the Children, Families, Learning & Communities directorate.

You will support in the delivery of both external campaigns and internal communications and staff engagement. You will need strong writing and editing skills across a range of media, including digital, to ensure a high quality of publicity material.
