As the Director of Public Affairs you will be engaging with communications and political systems around the world, ensuring coherence and integrity in our external persona and representation.

For the past 150 years we have strived to improve the lives of millions of learners. The work you will do will have a far reaching and long lasting impact.
Leading a team of media and brand specialists, you will have the power to influence how the work of Cambridge Assessment is understood.

This team of experts will support you by monitoring press and digital media, and are the go to when regulatory and monitoring bodies such as Ofqual and Select Committees, require the business to give evidence, both in England and around the world.

Not just a firefighter, you will also be able to prevent the fires from starting in the first place

In this critical role you will provide trusted guidance on how to respond to negative representation, conveying fair and accurate accounts of how we work, as well as supporting the strategy and the development of our three exam board brands:

  • OCR (Oxford Cambridge RSA)
  • Cambridge Assessment International
  • Cambridge Assessment English

You’ll also become close friends with the Cambridge University Press and Cambridge University as you collaborate to ensure coherence of message.

The role is 75% Public Affairs, but will also have an element of brand and reputation. Please don’t let this combination put you off. We would be more than happy to have an informal chat prior to your application and speak with those who have a backgrounds in Consumer Relations, Communications or Media Relations.

What we’re looking for

With established leadership and influencing skills you will use your extensive experience of public affairs and policy development to tailor actions and communications to specific circumstances. A super collaborator with natural
networking skills, you will also provide clear direction and motivational leadership to your team of specialists.
