The overall responsibility of the Scientific Advisor is to act as the scientific lead on key accounts, working closely with the Business Unit Director. Within the business unit, you will be part of a team that will manage the development of client communication programmes for educational and promotional campaigns, and be aware of the medical and commercial elements of each project. You will help the team to be mindful of compliance and will liaise closely with the Medical Director on areas where additional compliance advice is required.

You will understand the strategic direction of your accounts and the imperatives for that brand – projects you work on must communicate such information whilst maintaining the highest possible levels of scientific accuracy. Where logical, you will be involved in helping develop and evolve the broader communications plans and if possible be involved in helping define the strategic approach for your accounts. You will be expected to tackle highly scientific and technical projects, especially those that fall outside the expertise of the main project management team.

Editorial experience in medical communications working with leading pharmaceutical groups is desirable as is experience of client and healthcare professional relations.
